Meet the team behind the Grand Haven studio
Alegria started in 2020 with a cutting table, two sewing machines and a belief that everyday clothes should be built to last. Six years later, the table is longer.
We opened on Washington Avenue in 2020, in a year when almost nobody was shopping in person. What we had was a small collection, a fitting room, and a stubborn belief that women wanted fewer, better everyday pieces instead of more, cheaper ones.
How a piece gets made here
Every style starts as a fit sample, worn for two weeks by someone on the team before it goes anywhere near production. If it needs special care, wrinkles badly, or only works with one shoe, it goes back to the table. Roughly a third of what we prototype never makes it to the floor.
If we would not wear it for a full day of work and then out to dinner, we do not make it.
Where transparency actually shows up
- Fabric composition is listed in full on every product page.
- Dye lots are documented and available on request.
- Fit notes come from our own fitting room, not from a size chart template.
- Anything we discontinue, we say so — final sale is marked clearly before you buy.
We are a small team in a small town, and we are not trying to be the biggest label in the country. We are trying to be the one you keep.
